Wooded Area Catches Fire, Bethlehem Road

A fire off of Bethlehem Road spread into the woods after a power line hit the ground.

Just after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon smoke and flames could be seen rising from a wooded area across from 1844 Bethlehem Rd. in Kings Mountain.

Grover Rural and Bethlehem Volutneer Fire Departments along with Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

According to the Highway Patrol a utility line was lying across the road, a vehicle ran over the line dragging it, and pulled down the utility pole.

When the pole broke it caused the lines to hit the ground igniting the blaze.

No one was injured. Check back for updates.
